Alfa Romeo North America Officially Unveils Pricing For Its 2024 Tonale
Pre-Ordering Is Now Available On The New Premium C-UV...
Alfa Romeo has officially announced its pricing structure for its new 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale in both the U.S. and Canada. This comes on the footstep of our deep dive into the Tonale’s pricing structure and available features for the U.S. last week.
“We look forward to launching the all-new Alfa Romeo Tonale and competing in the premium compact sport-utility vehicle segment with the brand’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offering,” said Larry Dominique, Senior Vice President and Head of Alfa Romeo North America. “The Tonale drops right into one of the largest volume segments with best-in-class 285 horsepower and more than 30 miles (48 kilometers) of electric range as the next generation of electrified Alfa Romeo vehicles make their way into the market.”
The evolution of performance is led by a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery and 90-kW electric motor that delivers all electric performance of more than 30 miles. The additional 1.3-liter turbocharged engine contributes to a best-in-class 285 horsepower and every Alfa Romeo Tonale includes all-wheel drive (AWD).
Now, late last year we learned that Alfa Romeo North America had cancelled its plan to bring the Tonale to the U.S. market with its turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. This was brought on by the pre-order success of its corporate sibling: the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT AWD.
Instead, the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder will soldier on under the hood of the Tonale in the Canadian market. Equipped with a twin-scroll, low inertia turbocharger, direct fuel injection and engine stop-start technology, this engine gives Tonale the brand’s iconic dynamic performance and drivability. The 2.0-liter delivers 256 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to standard Q4 AWD.
The 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale has a starting U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $42,995 (excluding $1,595 destination charge) for the Tonale Sprint PHEV Q4 AWD. For the Canadian market, the Tonale Sprint Q4 with the 2.0-liter engine has a starting MSRP of $44,995 (excluding $2,095 destination charge).
As for the pricing structure, it will look like this for North America:
2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale North America Pricing | ||
Model: | U.S. MSRP: | Canadian MSRP: |
Sprint Q4 2.0 | Not Available | $44,995 |
Veloce Q4 2.0 | Not Available | $46,495 |
Sprint Q4 PHEV | $42,995 | $54,995 |
Ti Q4 PHEV | $44,995 | Not Available |
Veloce Q4 PHEV | $47,995 | $57,495 |
The 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV does qualify for both a EV tax credit/rebate. Americans who purchase a Tonale PHEV, there is a $7,500 Federal EV tax credit, while Canadians will be able to qualify for up to $5,000 in EV rebates.
Initial U.S. pre-orders open with the all-new 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale Ti and Tonale Veloce trim levels with Sprint availability later in Q1 of 2023. American customers can build their Ti or Veloce Tonale through alfaromeousa.com and choose from the available options. After selecting a preferred dealer, a representative from the chosen dealer will contact the customer to finalize the order.
