Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos Appointed Head Of Alfa Romeo Design:
Will Lead The Italian Brand Into An Electrified Future For Design...
The Alfa Romeo brand continues to put forth more changes to propel the Italian performance brand into the future. It was announced earlier this week, that Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos would be taking over the helm as the new Head of Alfa Romeo Design.
Mesonero-Romanos is best known for the recent renaissance at SEAT and its high-performance arm, Cupra. He has worked on such vehicles as the Cupra Tavascan, Cupra Formentor, fourth-generation Seat Leon, fifth-generation Seat Ibiza, and Seat Arona.
Jean-Pierre Ploué, Chief Design Director – Stellantis stated, “Alejandro’s arrival represents a great opportunity for Alfa Romeo. Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos is a car enthusiast and did a wonderful job at Cupra. The Design Team and I look forward to working with him.”
Mesonero-Romanos will now focus on a refresh of the Alfa Romeo brand, by leading the electrification and modernization process while maintaining the brand’s Italian heritage over the past 111-years.
Jean-Philippe Imparato, the recently appointed Alfa Romeo CEO, said he is ‘’happy to address the upcoming challenges at Alfa Romeo with a forward-thinker like Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos. This close partnership is expected to bring success to the brand.”
Mesonero-Romanos will be officially taking his position this Thursday, July 1st, 2021. He will report directly to Jean-Pierre Ploué.
