Abarth Releases The Rest Of Its New All-Electric 500e Lineup
500e and 500e Turismo Models, Now Complete The Portfolio...
After the success of the eye-catching, fully equipped “Scorpionissima” launch version, which was fully booked after just a few weeks, Abarth has introduced two new variants to the new Abarth 500e lineup, with the entry-level 500e and more luxurious 500e Turismo (now available to order in both hatchback and cabrio versions).
Abarth 500e –
The Abarth 500e marks the brand’s foray into a new era, boasting cutting-edge design elements and sporty details that deliver both performance and character. At the front, the car features a new Abarth lettering in Dark Titanium Grey placed above the grille, which serves as a testament to the model’s sporty character. This new lettering, combined with the headlights and grille, gives the car a look that exudes a sense of purpose and ambition.
On the side of the car, drivers will notice a new electrified Scorpion signature logo that signals the vehicle’s entry into the world of electric cars. The exterior of the 500e also boasts several design elements that make it unique and eye-catching, including a new dedicated front bumper, 17-inch alloy wheels with a new design, lateral skirt lines, a white front DAM, rear diffuser inserts, and Matte Gray mirror caps.
Inside the car, the sporty and comfortable driving environment is emphasized by the dark ambiance of the pillars and headliner, sporty seats with scorpion stripes embossed on fabric, and sporty double stitching on the steering wheel, which is wrapped in black vinyl. The 500e also features two big screens in front of the driver: a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) cluster with dedicated Abarth graphics come as standard. The infotainment system includes new Performance Pages that have been specifically designed for the new electric Abarth, allowing customers to keep track of their performance and unleash the excitement of the drive.
The Abarth 500e also features a specific sound that reproduces a rock guitar tone inside the cabin every time the car is turned on or off. Additionally, the AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) gets a specific “Abarth jingle,” a recognizable sound that reflects the transgressive and unconventional soul inherent in the genre and the Scorpion’s cars.
For those who crave the thrill of open-air driving, the Abarth 500e Cabrio version provides a unique and exclusive driving experience that blends sun, scents, and wind with the car’s bold sounds and design. This version delivers pure sportiness and the typical ingredients of open-air driving, providing drivers with a feeling of freedom and excitement that only a Cabrio version can offer.
Abarth 500e Turismo –
The Abarth 500e Turismo represents the pinnacle of the new line-up, boasting exceptional performance, a distinctive style, and the classic Abarth sound that enthusiasts know and love. It seamlessly blends power and elegance, appealing to both traditional sports car enthusiasts and modern lifestyle seekers.
The exterior of the Turismo is truly eye-catching, featuring dedicated 18-inch diamond-cut Titanium Grey alloy wheels that provide exceptional grip and a sharp, aggressive design that exudes modern confidence and timeless sophistication.
On the inside, sportiness and style are taken to new heights with premium Alcantara interiors, a racing-inspired material that delivers a dark, sporty look and a luxurious feel. The Alcantara and leather steering wheel and Alcantara embossed dashboard fascia offer a premium touch of sportiness.
The sporty seats are designed with an integrated headrest featuring the Acid-Green Scorpion emblem laser-etched onto the Alcantara, while the sporty double stitching seamlessly flows from the seats to the door panels, providing visual continuity throughout the cabin.
The signature Abarth “roar” is a standard feature on the Turismo, thanks to the Abarth Sound Generator that faithfully reproduces the sound of an Abarth turbocharged gasoline engine inspired by the iconic Record Monza exhaust. This innovative sound system perfectly blends performance and sound, elevating the Abarth driving experience to new heights.
The Abarth 500e Turismo also boasts a full suite of comfort, technological, and safety features, including heated front seats, a wireless charging pad, a rear-view camera, and a blind spot warning system, ensuring that drivers and passengers are safe and comfortable on every journey.
JBL Premium Audio –
The Abarth 500e Turismo now offers an immersive 360° sound experience with the addition of a vibrant and powerful JBL premium audio system. This partnership between Abarth and JBL gets the adrenaline pumping on every ride, satisfying even the most discerning music fans who love to drive. The JBL system features 7 optimally placed high-performance speakers, including tweeters, mid-woofers, rear door full range speakers, and a trunk subwoofer, all powered by an 8-channel amplifier.
The premium audio system is both refined in build and performance, with advanced technologies such as Virtual Center technology and Speed Adjusted Volume. The JBL premium sound system is perfectly integrated into the car without any major impact on the interior or trunk space, letting the intense JBL sound flow through customers’ veins and turning energy into emotion and power into adrenaline, just like the Abarth 500e.
Other Features –
The Abarth 500e boasts impressive handling and driving dynamics, with a sharper response, improved corner entry, and higher cornering and exit speeds, making it the most exhilarating Abarth yet. Powered by a 42-kWh battery and a powerful e-motor, it combines Scorpion performance with cutting-edge electric mobility. With best-in-class acceleration and zero emissions, the Abarth 500e delivers an exciting and fast driving experience in any condition.
This electric vehicle has a battery range of up to 265 km (165 miles) and supports fast charging up to 85kw in direct current (DC), ensuring that drivers can enjoy plenty of driving excitement. Customers can also choose from five thrilling colors for both the 500e and the 500e Turismo, including Antidote White, Venom Black, Adrenaline Red, and the brand-new Acid Green and Poison Blue, which make the Abarth 500e stand out from the crowd.
Driving Modes –
The Abarth 500e and Abarth 500e Turismo offer customers a choice of three exclusive driving modes that prioritize performance: Turismo, Scorpion Street, and Scorpion Track. This enables drivers to fully optimize the sporty set-up and unlock the full potential of their Abarth in any driving situation.
In Turismo mode, acceleration is smoother, and power output is lower, resulting in an efficient and enjoyable driving experience. On the other hand, Scorpion Street mode provides maximum performance while maximizing regenerative braking.
Both Turismo and Scorpion Street modes offer the one-pedal driving feature, allowing for a faster and more dynamic driving experience. The car decelerates when the driver lifts their foot off the accelerator pedal, which means that braking can be achieved without touching the brake pedal. This feature also recovers kinetic energy, which is then converted into electricity and used to recharge the battery.
For those who crave top performance without the One Pedal Driving function, the Scorpion Track mode is ideal. This mode is designed for drivers who want to push their Abarth to its limits on the racetrack or other high-performance driving situations.
Charging –
The Abarth 500e is designed to minimize charging time and maximize driving excitement. With its 85-kW fast-charging system, the car’s battery can be charged quickly, ensuring non-stop fun on the road. In fact, the car can build up a sufficient energy reserve for daily mileage requirements (around 40 km or 25 miles) in less than 5 minutes, which is faster than the time it takes to choose your next destination. And when you’re in a hurry, the fast charge can reach 80% of the range in just 35 minutes, so you can quickly get back to racing on the streets.
As of now, the Abarth 500e is available for order in Europe, but there is no official confirmation whether it will be released in North America. However, the less sporty version of the car, the Fiat variant, is anticipated to be launched in North America in the first quarter of 2024.
