Stellantis (FCA US) Design recently hosted an exciting Cars + Coffee event that drew a massive crowd of automotive enthusiasts. Among the highlights of the event were a trio of the automaker’s newest concept cars, including the 2023 Jeep® Gladiator Sideburn Concept. This remarkable vehicle, adorned in a captivating Solar Flash Yellow color, showcases innovative features tailored for off-road adventures. Let’s dive into the thrilling details of this exceptional concept.
At the heart of the Gladiator Sideburn concept lies the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. Enhancing its off-road capabilities is the inclusion of a Jeep® Performance Parts (JPP) 2-inch lift kit paired with Bilstein performance shock absorbers. The Bilstein shocks, equipped with remote reservoirs, offer superior cooling capacity, enabling increased suspension travel and unmatched 4×4 Jeep off-road performance. Adding to the ruggedness are a set of Black HRE 17-inch x 9-inch FT1 six-spoke wheels fitted with 37-inch x 13-inch BFGoodrich tires.
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Sideburn Concept boasts several unique design elements. Its distinctive seven-slot front grille, borrowed from the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition, is protected by a custom-designed tubular grille guard. This guard doubles as a folding bumper bench, providing a comfortable resting spot for two while exploring the trails. The concept also incorporates a modified Rubicon bumper housing a Warn winch, ensuring the Sideburn is always ready for off-road challenges.
Addressing customer feedback, the JPP by Mopar design team has equipped the Gladiator Sideburn concept with removable 11-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights mounted on the roof panels. Suspended by custom bracketry, these lights can be quickly disconnected when necessary. This thoughtful addition enhances visibility during night-time off-roading adventures.
A concept JPP Gladiator Sport Bar, crafted from lightweight carbon fiber and steel, enhances the space between the cabin and the bed. This design incorporates bed steps on both sides for easy access and features a mid-shelf equipped with tie-downs for portable storage totes. The bed itself showcases integral Molle panels above and behind the wheel flares, providing additional storage options. To cater to off-road excursions, specially designed RotoPaX containers are integrated into the bed for secure liquid storage. Moreover, a modified Mopar bed-mounted spare tire carrier can accommodate a 37-inch wheel and tire.
The Gladiator Sideburn concept boasts several notable interior features. The availability of JPP half doors enhances the open-air cabin, while JPP side steps and grab handles facilitate easy entry into the elevated seating area. The seats, armrest, shift boots, parking brake handle, and half-door pull straps are adorned in exquisite deep red-brown Vienesse Relicate Nappa leather, accentuated by Soul-stopper thread. The attention to detail continues with custom instrument panel bezels, showcasing a 3D topographical map of Moab scenery in matte-black base and gloss dark-silver trails. Complementing the interior ambiance, decorative stainless-steel JPP pedal covers provide optimal foot traction for traversing challenging trails.
