IONNA Doubles Charging Stations in Q2: More Power, More Perks

More Stations, Lower Prices, Big EV Plans

IONNA is charging ahead—literally. In Q2 2025, the EV charging joint venture backed by eight global automakers officially doubled its number of operational fast-charging stations, known as Rechargeries. With six new sites going live in April, IONNA now boasts 12 fully functional locations with 120 total charging bays open to the public across the U.S.

The expansion isn’t stopping there. IONNA now has 15 more stations under active construction, which brings the total number of built or in-progress Rechargeries to 27 across 14 states. And the pipeline? It’s bursting with future growth—IONNA has already inked contracts for more than 200 future Rechargery locations. That’s over 2,000 charging baysalready in motion, more than double what the company previously announced earlier this year.

This kind of growth matters. IONNA has committed to installing 30,000 charging bays by the end of the decade, and this quarter’s news shows they’re walking the talk.

Charging Up the Perks –

To sweeten the deal, IONNA introduced “Friends & Family” pricing this quarter—a limited-time discount that’s open to everyone at all IONNA stations. No subscriptions, no hidden fees. Just lower prices for everyone, everywhere.

On top of that, free public charging credits from several major automakers are now fully usable at IONNA stations. Automakers including BMW, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and others are either already live or rolling out support. Many of these brands are also enabling Plug & Charge technology—making charging as simple as plugging in and driving away. No apps. No cards. No headaches.

Where to Find a Rechargery –

IONNA’s footprint is spreading fast. States like North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kansas, Arizona, and Missouri now have Rechargeries open to the public. Each location offers 24/7 400kW ultra-fast chargers, food and beverage options, clean restrooms, and IONNA’s signature modern canopies either already built or coming soon.

In a notable first, the Garner, North Carolina Rechargery also features the debut IONNA Rechargery Market, offering car care items, travel essentials, and refreshments—all conveniently located on-site.

The next wave? California. IONNA will launch its first Golden State location in Vista next year, leading the charge for a larger rollout across the West Coast. IONNA’s unique orange-and-blue color scheme will soon dot the California highway system as the company aims to connect city streets and coastlines with reliable, ultra-fast EV charging.

The Big Picture –

IONNA was founded by BMW, General Motors (GM), Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Stellantis, and Toyota—each pledging to make EV ownership and charging simpler, more consistent, and less frustrating. It’s more than just plugging in—it’s about transforming the entire experience with reliable locations, quality amenities, and real support for long-distance electric mobility.
