Semiconductor Chip Shortage Causes Ram To Repackage Some Options:

Ram 1500 & Ram Heavy Duty Models Are Affected...

Due to the global wide semiconductor chip shortage, the chip-reliant automotive industry has been struggling to make adjustments to its manufacturing operations to ensure that production won’t slow down. Demand for these chips soared during the pandemic as people snapped up game consoles, laptops, and TVs to help get through the lockdowns. But now, several automakers have been scheduling temporary closures of their assembly plants and cutting back production of popular models because of the shortages.

Thanks to our dealer sources, we have found out that the Ram Truck brand has been forced to revamp several of its packages on its Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty lineup to keep production moving. Ram has decided to remove the Blind-Spot Monitoring (XAN) option from some of its most popular packages.

The revised packages will save $200 on Ram 1500 and $270 on Ram Heavy Duty models.

2021 Ram 2500 Big Horn Mega Cab 4×4. (Ram).

The standalone XAN option will remain closed across all trim levels (where applicable). The note to dealers stated that Limited Longhorn, Limited, Ram 1500 TRX, and Ram 2500 Power Wagon packages will remain unchanged for the time being.
