2025 Jeep® Commander Gets A New 2.2L Diesel In Brazil

Jeep® Brazil is enhancing its flagship three-row D-SUV, the Commander Overland 4×4, by introducing a more powerful and efficient 2.2-liter turbodiesel I4 engine.

The new 2.2-liter turbodiesel I4 substantially upgrades the outgoing diesel powerplant, producing 200 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb.-ft.) of torque. This marks an increase of 30 horsepower and 70 Nm (52 lb.-ft.), making the SUV more agile on and off the road. With this new engine, the Commander can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.7 seconds, shaving two full seconds off its previous time.

The Jeep Commander (H1), built at the Stellantis Automotive Pole in Goiana, Pernambuco, remains Brazil’s largest and most luxurious Jeep produced. Designed to comfortably accommodate seven passengers, the third row folds flat to create an expansive cargo space of 661 liters (23.3 cu. ft.), expanding to 1,760 liters (62.2 cu. ft.) with all rear seats down.
