We Went To Stellantis Cars + Coffee This Past Weekend
Design Team Holds Its First Car Event Of The Year...
The Stellantis (FCA US) Product Design Officer (PDO) team hosted its first cars and coffee event of 2024, this past weekend. Car enthusiasts from all walks of life, regardless of their favorite brand, descended upon the former site of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum for a morning filled with automotive splendor.
The turnout was nothing short of impressive, with a few hundred Mopar and non-Mopar vehicles filing the lot at the former museum to be part of the action. So much so, that some visitors had to utilize overfill lots across the street to accommodate the influx of cars.
These events, which occur a couple of times annually, have become a cornerstone of the automotive calendar in the Metro Detroit area, offering enthusiasts a unique opportunity to mingle with their favorite PDO designers. Enthusiasts also got a chance to get up close and personal with the latest concept car from the design team, with the spotlight this time falling on the Chrysler Halcyon Concept.
The Halcyon Concept, making its debut during an online presentation before its only other public appearance at the Amelia Concours d’Elegance in Florida, caught a lot of attention from those in attendance. While it looks much better in person, its futuristic design language is far from what Chrysler fans are used to.
The PDO staff were out in full force, engaging with attendees, fielding questions about the Halcyon on display, and proudly showcasing their rides. The atmosphere was further electrified by the beats of DJ Welchi, ensuring that the event was not just a feast for the eyes but a treat for the ears as well.
What truly made this event special was its ability to draw enthusiasts from far and wide. Attendees flocked from all corners of Michigan, with some even making the journey from neighboring states and across the border from Ontario, Canada.
