Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WK2) Returns For 2021 Model Year:

Current-Generation Grand Cherokee Returns For One More Model Year...

As we have been saying for quite some time now, the current-generation Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WK2) will return for the 2021 model year. That’s right, the current Grand Cherokee isn’t dead yet despite two all-new models that will ultimately replace it for the 2022 model year. Thanks to our dealer connections, we are learning more about the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and what will happen to the most award-winning SUV for the new model year.

2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Limited X. (Jeep).

The Grand Cherokee we are being told will return for the 2021 model year with some minor changes. According to our sources, the entry-level Laredo will return with a new standard 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheel design. There will also be a new Sun & Sound package available on Limited and Limited X models. That package will include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a 9-speaker Alpine 506-watt premium audio system with a subwoofer.

2016 Jeep® Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary Edition. (Jeep).

As for new trim models, we are hearing about a new 80th Anniversary Edition Grand Cherokee that will be based on the popular Limited model. The new 80th Anniversary Edition will be a cross-brand promotion to celebrate the brand’s heritage and builds off of the success of prior anniversary edition vehicles.

2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. (Jeep).

Our dealer sources have also said that all of the current core models will return for the 2021 model year, including Laredo, Limited, the off-road-oriented Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk models. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup, is expected to start production on Monday, September 14th, 2020 at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to have a short model year, with the all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee starting production in early 2021.
