Viper GTS Crashes Into Wall During Roll Race Test At TX2K19:
Driver Uninjured In Accident...
Some of the quickest cars in the country are in Houston, Texas this weekend for the annual TX2K drag racing event at Houston Raceway Park. The four-day event attracts well over 25,000 fans to watch some amazing roll racing, drag racing, a car show and much more. Some amazing street and drag cars make it into the event, including some really fast Mopars.
During the roll racing test session this past Thursday, a fifth-generation Dodge Viper GTS got loose and hooked right into the left lane outside wall while racing a Nissan GT-R. The car broke loose, and the driver was not able to lift out of the throttle in the right amount of time to keep the car from going into the wall. While the driver walked away uninjured, the Viper, on the other hand, sustained some heavy damage.
The force of the Viper’s impact damaged a large section of the concrete wall. This caused a stop in racing action, while crews repaired the wall to finish the session. The team over at Speed Video who are streaming the event live happened to catch the accident.
