We have been talking for a few months about adding some more power to our long-term Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and recently, we finally had the chance to install the parts we were really waiting for. We have already enhanced our Trackhawk experience by adding a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, JLT cold air intake and catch can, Granatelli high flow thermostat housing, and a Z Automotive Tazer, but it was time to add some more boost and fuel into the mix.
After contacting Curt Dusterhoff at Dusterhoff Tuning, it was decided that we were going to go with a Griptec 2.85 upper pulley, along with some Fuel Injector Clinic 1200CC injectors, 180-degree thermostat, and a Dusterhoff remote engine and trans tune.
The Griptec pulley will allow us to quickly change the supercharger pulley size on the fly as the pulley ring bolts to the hub using eight Torx bolts, and the 1200CC injectors would leave us plenty of room to grow or go with a flex-fuel setup later on.
These modifications were fairly easy to complete and could be done by anyone with some mechanical ability in their own garage within a few hours. Check out the video up above to see just how everything comes apart.
Next week we will follow up with another video showing how everything goes back together, along with our first impressions on our newly modified Trackhawk.
