Under the hood, the HEMI block has been sourced from a 1968 HEMI Road Runner that has been bored and stroked to 480 cubic inches. The engine has an OEM chrome dome air cleaner, black-crackle painted valve covers, big-tube headers, modern ignition parts, and a Vintage Air compressor. The Wizard aluminum radiator and matching shroud keep it cool. All those cubic inches are backed by a Tremec 5-speed transmission and a 3.91 rear end.

The car’s exterior is striking, with a rich green paint job that is broken up only by the black “Scat” stripe. Chrome R/T emblems can be found at the front and rear of the car, while dual exterior mirrors and a factory flip-open gas filler cap add to its unique style. Inside, the car features a custom black leather interior with custom-milled green accents, a custom-built instrument pod, one-off door panels and handles, front bucket seats, a custom console supporting a Pistol Grip shifter, a Kenwood double-DIN CD stereo system, and pedal dress-ups.

The car’s suspension has been upgraded with Air Ride technology, and it also features power steering, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and new stainless steel brake and fuel lines. The final touch was the selection of Rushforth custom wheels that reveal the drilled and slotted rotors and wear modern blackwall radial tires.

The sale includes a broadcast sheet, the owner’s manual, the Chrysler Certicard, and the original fender tag, all of which serve as the starting point but have no bearing on what has been updated here. This car is a complete reworking of the iconic Charger body design, leaving enough DNA intact that viewers will know what it is but want to know more.
