Toledo Assembly Produces Its 250,000th Jeep® Wrangler 4xe
America’s Best-Selling PHEV Wrangler 4xe Hits Major Milestone in Ohio

Stellantis’ Toledo Assembly Complex has reached a huge milestone—rolling out the 250,000th Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited 4xe. That’s a quarter of a million Wranglers (JL) plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles built in Ohio since production kicked off in December 2020.

This isn’t just any SUV. The Wrangler 4xe is America’s top-selling PHEV, and it’s the only one in its class that delivers true off-road capability with the benefit of electric power. It combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery. The result? You get up to 49 MPGe and around 21 miles of all-electric driving—perfect for your commute or a quiet crawl through the backcountry.
The 250,000th model was a 2025 Wrangler Willys 4xe finished in Black Clear Coat. The milestone model featured a Freedom Top, BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires, and cloth seats. It’s heading west to a customer in California.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the production of the 250,000th Wrangler 4xe,” said Bob Broderdorf, Jeep® CEO. “This milestone shows how much people love having options—whether it’s gas, electric, or a little bit of both.”
The Toledo plant has been Wranglers and its earlier counterparts for over 80 years, and every single one—gas, hybrid, or fire—breathing V8—is still assembled there. It’s one of the most iconic Jeep factories in the world.

“Toledo employees take great pride in being part of the Wrangler’s legacy,” said Trezelle Jenkins, Plant Manager at Toledo Assembly Complex. “We’re proud to see the 4xe hit such a big number, and we’re excited about where it’s headed next.”
The Wrangler 4xe plays a significant role in Stellantis’ multi-energy game plan, which lets customers pick the best powertrain. It’s all part of giving Jeep owners the freedom they expect from the brand.
And it’s not just the Wrangler. Jeep also recently celebrated the 100,000th Grand Cherokee 4xe rolling out of Detroit, making it the third best-selling PHEV in the U.S. That model started production in 2022 and continues to climb in popularity.

With more and more people choosing hybrid power, especially for vehicles that can handle urban life and rugged trails, the Wrangler 4xe stands out—and 250,000 builds prove it.
