To kick off the production of its fifth-generation Viper, Dodge introduced a very limited production run of what it called the 2013 Dodge Viper GTS Launch Edition. Just like the launch edition Viper coupes before it in 1996 and 2006, each of the 150 units came in iconic GTS Blue exterior paint and feature dual Bright White stripes.
Inside each of the 2013 Dodge Viper GTS Launch Edition models were a serialized dash plaque with its build sequence number. A Black Laguna leather with contrast stitching found throughout, covering the seats, door trim, instrument panel, steering wheel, grab handle, shift knob, and center console. Alcantara covers the headliner and White bezels were finished in Satin Silver.
This particular one show here, is currently listed for sale by BJ Motors in Tomball, Texas. Serialized as No. 145 / 150, the car has 16,616 miles on its odometer at the moment. But what really sets it apart from most launch edition models is that it was sent to our good friends at Prefix Corporation in Auburn Hills, Michigan in late 2020, for their 9.0L Upgrade Package.
The 9.0L Upgrade Package, features a custom Comp Stage II camshaft (non-VVT) with Comp cams double valve springs, Callies “stroker” billet crankshaft, 4.200-inch stroke with 2.100-inch diameter rod pins, Callies H-beam forged connecting rods with Daido TriMetal rod bearings, MAHLE custom forged pistons with 0.927-inch diameters piston pins, and the rings are Steel Moly-fitted and are 1mm, 1mm, 2mm in thickness.
The result is a 550 cubic-inch VIPER V-10, good enough to produce 730 horsepower and 760 lb.-ft. of torque on 93 octane pump gas.
A set of American Racing Headers and high-flow cats were also installed to added to performance.
Adding to the already gorgeous look the 2013 Dodge Viper GTS Launch Edition is a number of exterior enhancements. That includes Venomous Carbon Hood Vents in Forged Carbon, Venomous Carbon TA 1.0 Splitters in Forged Carbon, a TA 1.0 Rear Spoiler which is painted to match the exterior scheme, and complete paint production film to the front bumper, hood, and mirrors from debris and road grim on those weekend trips.
The car has also been fitted with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (installed in June 2022), a MGW shifter, and an Antigravity Lithium battery.
Being a 2013 Dodge Viper GTS Launch Edition the cars also comes with a Blue car cover with White stripes, 18-inch x 10.5-inch (front) and 19-inch x 13-inch (rear) “Rattler” polished wheels, and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon GreenEdge premium sound system.
BJ Motors has the car listed at $157,995 on their website.
