OK it’s not the next generation Compass or Cherokee, but it points Jeep in the right direction in the compact and mid-size SUV direction. Yes this shows those lost souls at Jeep thatJeep has a huge future in these segments, domestically and globally and let’s get these darn product in the showrooms ASAP. Heck, even a Monday morning Quarterback like me recognizes the enormous potential that this aging Jeep spinoff demonstrates so clearly. Not the most innovative or modern in the Jeep universe, but a damn good effort that speaks volumes about the ongoing shortcomings surrounding Jeep and the long reach these new generation Jeeps will have world wide. I’d send the Cherokee deep, the Compass cuts across the middle and we release the Rengade into the flats. Over a beer, from my lounge chair, this play wins it for the home team. Touchdown Jeep !
