The last Maserati GranTurismo has rolled off the line at Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s (FCA) Modena Assembly Plant, yesterday. While the Modena plant is set to be completely revamped to produce a new generation of Maserati sports car models. You might recall, we recently talked about this on MoparInsiders.com, but the new super sports model, a high-performance car, characterized by state-of-the-art technology is scheduled to launch in 2020.

So with the last GranTurismo in this generation, Maserati has decided to create a very unique model to set it apart from the rest of the cars before it. Named the GranTurismo Zéda, the one-off Maserati shows a hint of what to come for the premium brand.

The Maserati GranTurismo Zéda presents the world to a new era through colors and materials. Look from the rear of the car towards the front, the surfaces change and become richer, by shifting from a light satin finish to a burnished “metallurgic” effect. The midsection slowly morphs again, deepening all the way to Maserati blue. The blue also evolves, becoming energetic, electric, as if it seems alive, or like a mirror.

The exterior shades were designed by Centro Stile Maserati, pushing the limits of what lays ahead for automotive finishes. The GranTurismo Zéda showcases today’s technology and know-how constantly evolving towards the future.

The GranTurismo Zéda is set the tour the globe at various events, in anticipation of the arrival of a next-generation GranTurismo late next year.
