The 2022 Jeep® Commander (H1) arrived in the Brazilian market with the purpose of reinventing the D-SUV segment, which it is actually doing. Success since its pre-sale, the three-row Jeep is the leader of the category for the third consecutive month and it looks that March will be no different. In the first fortnight of the month, it continues to be number one in its category. In addition, its market share continues to grow: in the first half of March, it achieved its largest market share in the segment since it was launched, with an impressive 39% share.
The launch of the Commander took the D-SUV segment to the next level. Since 2015, the category has remained stable and without significant growth, but the story has recently started to change. In the first two months of 2022, sales for large SUVs accounted for 3.7% of car sales in Brazil, which is equivalent to an increase of more than 130% compared to the same period of the previous year.
“The Jeep Commander has arrived to be the biggest and most sophisticated Jeep ever produced in Brazil. More than that, the model managed to bring more expressiveness and evidence to the D-SUVs segment as a whole, as already happened when the Compass was launched, expanding the category of C-SUVs. The trend is for performance to remain positive because the model continues to be highly sought after and desired”, says Everton Kurdejak, Jeep’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Brazil.
The success of the first Jeep developed in Brazil is such that, since December (just a few months after its launch at the end of August), the Commander has practically doubled sales of each of its direct competitors. In total, 7,635 units of the model have already been sold throughout the country. In addition, it is worth mentioning the success it achieved in its pre-sales, reaching the impressive mark of 2,800 units reserved in just 6 hours.
