The 2021 Jeep® Cherokee continues to be the most capable SUV in the midsize segment. While the Cherokee has struggled in the sales department since its 2019 refresh, the Jeep brand continues to offer several buzz models for its midsize Cherokee for the new model year. The 2021 Jeep Cherokee Altitude continues to be one of the most popular offerings for the nameplate.

Under the hood, there is the 2.4-liter Tigershark inline-four-cylinder which features 16-valves, Variable Valve Timing (VVT), and a flow-control valve intake manifold as well as Engine Stop/Start (ESS) technology. The Tigershark is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and delivers 180 horsepower @ 6,400 rpm and 171 lb.-ft. (234 N•m) @ 4,600 rpm on regular 87 octane gasoline.
Unfortunately, you can not opt for the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 or the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder for the 2021 model year. Although the package is still available in both front-wheel-drive (4×2) and four-wheel-drive (4×4) configurations.
For 2021, there are seven exterior colors available for the Cherokee Altitude. Bright White is available at no charge, while there is a $245 upcharge for colors like Diamond Black, Hydro Blue, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Valvet Red, or Spitfire. There is also a choice of two interior colors including Black or Black and Ski Gray.
The 2021 Jeep Cherokee Altitude has a U.S. starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $29,820 for 4×2 and $31,320 for 4×4 models. Prices do not include the added $1,495 for destination, taxes, title, and other fees.
