If you are as much of a fan of Forza Horizon 5 (FH5) as we are, then you will be excited to hear that another modern Mopar had been added to the expanded car list this week for those of you who purchased the Forza “Car Pass”.
Starting today, the 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 is now available to play around the FH5 of Mexico. It joins an expanding list of Dodge vehicles that include…
- 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
- 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI
- 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
- 1969 Dodge Charger R/T Forza Edition (Part of the VIP DLC)
- 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
- 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR
- 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR
- 2013 Dodge (SRT) Viper GTS
- 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
- 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
- 2016 Dodge Viper ACR-E
- 2018 Dodge Durango SRT
- 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
The 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 sported a completely redesigned hood with a functional performance hood scoop, grille, front fascia, and headlamps, making it look more menacing than its 2006 and 2007 Magnum SRT8 counterparts.
Powered by a 6.1-liter (370 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 producing 425 horsepower (317 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. (569 N•m) of torque. The HEMI power was channeled through a 5-speed automatic transmission with a specially calibrated, driver-selectable Auto Stick, which offered fully automatic or manual shifting selection.
Providing 71.6 cubic feet of cargo space, the 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 produced a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in the low 5-second range, 0 to 100 to 0 mph in under 17 seconds, and a 60 to 0 mph stopping distance of 100 feet.
For the 2008 model year, Dodge only produced 239 examples of the Magnum SRT8. The model was discontinued in the middle of the model year to make way for the new two-door 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Thus making the 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 one of the rarest, most collectible, and most desirable of the L-series cars (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Magnum).
The 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 was offered in four different exterior colors, TorRed, Bright Silver Metallic, Brillant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, and Steel Blue Metallic Clear Coat (all of which are represented in the game). Or you can opt to create your own as we did.
The FH5 options also allow you to alter the Magnum SRT8’s powertrain, allowing for multiple engines including a 6.7-liter V8 turbodiesel, an 8.4-liter Viper V-10, a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, or a 7.7-liter V-12. You are even able to convert the car to all-wheel drive (AWD).
Needless to say, the Magnum is one of those modern Mopar muscle cars we love to see in the digital world to “hoon” around in.
