Our friends over at TFLTruck got their hands on the new 2019 Ram 3500 Limited Crew Cab Dually 4×4 with the new 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output (H.O.) inline-six cylinder engine. So when you are the guys at TFLTruck and have such a truck from the Ram media pool at your disposal, what do you do? Throw a 50-foot Cimarron trailer with air ride and load it up with almost 30,000 lbs of weight to see just how good of mileage the new Cummins gets towing.
The guys put the truck to the test on a 100-mile Colorado highway loop. So just how well did the new Cummins do on fuel? You’ll have to see at the end of the video.
But the truck sure looks great towing. We had our chance last week to get some time behind the more mainstream Big Horn 3500 model equipped with the standard version of the Cummins and we were impressed with its road manners. We also were impressed when we towed with the 3500 Tradesman and 3500 Laramie Longhorn models as well, that we tested a couple of months back.
The Ram engineering team spend a lot of time revising the 4th generation Ram Heavy Duty, into a completely different animal for the 2019 model year.
