Ram Welcomes Back The “Tungsten” Trim For 2025

The Ultra-Premium Offering For The Latest Ram 1500s...

The full-size ultra-premium luxury pickup market continues to grow as truck manufacturers continue to see who can build the most luxurious offering out there. Trucks like the Ford F-150 Limited, GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, Silverado High Country, and Toyota Tundra Capstone are becoming increasingly popular as people move away from luxury cars and into pickup trucks. So you can find every amenity available packaged into these full-size family haulers.

But now Ram has revealed its new ultra-premium offering, the 2025 Tungsten, to compete against those others. But the Tungsten name might sound familiar to those diehard Ram fans who pay attention.

Not the first time around!

In 2017, Ram introduced the Tungsten trim as an extension of its Limited trim for the 2018 model year. Available for only a single model year, the 2018 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 Limited Tungsten Edition trucks added premium content such as a Light Greystone suede headliner and ultra-premium “Natura Plus” Frost and Indigo-colored premium leather throughout the cabin, including the seats, instrument panel, steering wheel, center arm rest and doors. Tungsten models also featured Indigo-colored carpets with rubber floormats and snap-out Frost and Indigo carpeted inserts. In addition, natural wood interior components and unique badges complete the first-tier trim.

As Ram’s halo model for the year, each Limited Tungsten Edition truck received a Tungsten Chrome grille with large R-A-M lettering (modeled after the Limited); Ram 1500 units added a Sport Performance Hood to the body-color matched bumpers, mirrors, and door handles and running boards. Headlamps featured a Black surround borrowed from the Sport model. Across the back, body-colored “R-A-M” letters covered the tailgate with Tungsten Chrome accents and badging. At the same time, a unique Satin-painted set of Limited wheels completed the exterior look.

Ram 1500 Limited Tungsten Edition models were also equipped with air suspension, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen with navigation, remote start, a backup camera, power-adjustable pedals with memory, a heated steering wheel, front ventilated, and heated seats.

So why the Tungsten name?

Tungsten is considered a rare metal and is known as one of the toughest things found in nature. The dense, heavy metal has the highest melting point of all the elements and is harder than steel. So Ram said, “What better material to describe Ram’s highest trim?”

What’s new for Tungsten in 2025?

The Tungsten model introduces luxury previously unseen in the Ram 1500 series. The interior boasts an Indigo/Sea Salt color scheme, complemented by platinum patina/semi-bright dual-textured metal accents featuring intricate diamond knurling. The suede-wrapped headliner, A- and B-pillars, and visors contribute to a refined ambiance, while the heated and ventilated premium quilted Natura Plus leather seats, with 24-way power adjustments and a massage function, promise an unrivaled driving experience.

Attention to detail is evident throughout the Tungsten model. The center console proudly displays a Tungsten badge with inlaid metal lettering and diamond knurling, showcasing a unique touch. Brushed platinum patina aluminum litho bezels, a crystal-effect shifter center cap and an ultra-premium Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system with 23 speakers further accentuate the craftsmanship and attention invested in this luxury truck.

Ram Trucks has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the Tungsten model offers the latest automotive technology. The Uconnect 5 system, featuring a 14.5-inch touchscreen display, boasts split-screen capability, Full Array Local Dimming technology, and an advanced Atlantis electrical architecture. A segment-first 10.25-inch passenger screen adds an extra layer of functionality, providing navigation, device management, and entertainment options.

At the heart of the Tungsten’s interior is the Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system, a 1,228-watt powerhouse that delivers an unparalleled auditory experience. With 23 specifically tuned speakers, including a high-performing 12-inch subwoofer and two one-inch titanium dome tweeters, this system sets a new standard for in-truck audio quality.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten exterior is nothing short of a visual feast. The truck welcomes drivers with an available walk-up animation and an exterior light carpet that guides occupants toward the door. LED headlamps, customizable exterior color LED light animation, and a redesigned full-front fascia contribute to the Tungsten’s distinguished appearance. A power liftgate is also added, ensuring even more accessible access to the truck bed.

The Tungsten model raises the bar for luxury and redefines comfort. The best-in-class 24-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats, with heating, ventilation, memory, and new massage functionality, ensure that every drive is a journey in comfort and relaxation.
