Stellantis’ VALORAUTO Opens End-Of-Life Vehicle Recycling Services

Allows Customers To Recycle Their Old Vehicles Weighing Less Than 3.5 Tons...

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainable and responsible end-of-life vehicle management, VALORAUTO, a joint venture between Stellantis and Galloo, is extending its automotive recycling solution to private owners in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Initially launched for professionals in November 2023, VALORAUTO’s expansion marks a significant step towards enhancing the circular economy and meeting Extended Producer Responsibility requirements.

A Comprehensive Solution for Private Owners –

VALORAUTO’s end-of-life vehicle recycling service for private owners is designed to be simple, safe, and open to all, irrespective of the vehicle’s brand, model, or engine type (combustion and electric). This free and responsible solution covers vehicles weighing under 3.5 tons (7,716 lbs), including passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), as well as those without a driving license.

The process begins with private vehicle owners registering on the VALORAUTO website, where they fill in an information form. Subsequently, they receive a competitive offer for the take-back of their vehicle. Owners have the flexibility to choose between dropping off their vehicle at one of the 300 Authorized Treatment Facilities partners of SUSTAINera VALORAUTO SAS or opting for a free collection at their location, including French overseas territories.

Commitment to Sustainability and Circular Economy –

VALORAUTO’s approach is rooted in sustainability and adherence to the circular economy principles. By maximizing the reuse of disassembled parts and recycling materials, VALORAUTO aligns with Stellantis’ Circular Economy business strategy. The service not only contributes to environmental conservation but also supports the OEM’s commitment to Extended Producer Responsibility.

The joint venture, formed between Stellantis and Galloo, demonstrates a fusion of automotive leadership in sustainable mobility and expertise in recycling ferrous and non-ferrous metals. VALORAUTO plays a pivotal role as the commercial service provided by the Joint Venture, ensuring the efficient collection and recycling of more than 95% of the constituent materials in end-of-life vehicles.

Streamlined Customer User Experience –

To facilitate a seamless experience for private owners, VALORAUTO simplifies the process through an intuitive online platform. Owners can register, receive a competitive offer, and choose the most convenient method for vehicle drop-off or collection. The network of Authorized Treatment Facilities is set to grow to 800 sites by the end of 2024, enhancing accessibility and quality of service.

VALORAUTO takes care of all administrative paperwork, including providing the certificate of destruction to the last owner. The secure payment to the owner and data confidentiality protection are prioritized, ensuring a trustworthy transaction. Additionally, VALORAUTO guarantees the de-pollution of vehicles before processing, emphasizing the importance of responsible end-of-life vehicle management.
