Ram Confirms Hurricane4 Power Under The Hood Of New Rampage Pickup

Ram’s forthcoming compact pickup, the 2024 Ram Rampage, has been a hot topic lately, particularly in the context of its release in Latin America. The vehicle is being co-developed by Ram engineers in Brazil and the United States. Rumors suggest it will be powered by the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine used in various FCA US products.

Ram has released a new teaser for the Brazilian market, which confirms that the truck will indeed feature a gasoline engine, dubbed the Hurricane4.

The teaser video features testimonials from several high-ranking Ram and FCA US executives, including Márcio Tonani (Vice President of the Brazilian Tech Center), Breno Kamei (Vice President of Ram Latin America), Ingrid Rubin (Manager of Vehicle Validation and Development), and Mike Koval Jr. (Global CEO of Ram).

While the specific horsepower and torque figures have not yet been disclosed, the executives featured in the video promise that the new compact Ram pickup will be the fastest pickup ever produced in Brazil, thanks to the Hurricane4 engine. This marks the first time the engine has been used in a vehicle manufactured in South America, with the Jeep® Commander expected to follow suit later this year.
