The all-new fifth-generation Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL) builds upon the legacy of the most awarded SUV of all time while incorporating an all-new architecture, exterior, interior, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technologies in the full-size E-SUV segment. But instead of offering a wide array of models like those offered in the United States or Canada, the Mexican market instead focuses on luxury with the top-of-the-line Summit Reserve being the only available trim. However, for 2022, Jeep Mexico will offer the Summit Reserve on both the two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve offers unparalleled off-road capability along with confident on-road driving dynamics.

Off-road capability comes courtesy of the Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system equipped with an active transfer case that improves traction by redirecting torque to the tire with the most grip. The Quadra-Lift air suspension, now with semi-active electronic damping, provides class-leading ground clearance (up to 11 inches) and water fording capability (24 inches). The system automatically adjusts the damper based on road conditions improving comfort, stability, and handling, or can be controlled manually from the center console, and features 5 different height settings for optimal driving performance.

The Selec-Terrain traction management system allows drivers to choose on-road and off-road settings for optimal 4×4 performance. This technology is capable of electronically coordinating the 4×4 torque distribution, brakes, maneuverability, steering column, suspension systems, throttle, transmission mode change, transfer case, traction control, etc. stability control, ABS, and steering wheel feel. It offers up to 5 terrain-based drive modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) providing optimized settings for any driving scenario.

All Mexico-bound Grand Cherokee Summit Reserves, come with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, producing 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.7-liter offers performance and efficiency thanks to Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and cylinder deactivation technologies. During light load operations, such as traveling down the highway, where full power is not needed, cylinder deactivation shuts off the fuel input, shuts off spark, and allows up to four cylinders to be deactivated. As soon as the system interprets more force is needed (for example, when the driver presses the accelerator), the idle cylinders are reactivated in a way that is imperceptible to the driver. Its operation covers more situations than in the previous generation and, depending on the scenario, the deactivation of the cylinders increases fuel economy between 5% and 20%.

The HEMI V8 is mated to a robust 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission that saves fuel while offering quick, smooth gear changes thanks to wide gear shifting. This allows the engine to maintain an ideal RPM range for every driving circumstance whether cruising down the highway or traversing off-road tracks.

The sleek, bold exterior of the new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve provides a refreshed, modern look to the most luxurious Grand Cherokee of all time. The lowered roof helps improve aerodynamics and efficiency without sacrificing cargo capacity and utility, while a low beltline and extensive glass surface allow more light to enter the cabin and improve outward visibility.

The long, tight hood and striking front-end image provide visual punch, while the streamlined bodywork offers design flexibility and improved fit and finish.

All Summit Reserve models get a Gloss Black-painted roof, 21-inch aluminum wheels, and chrome exterior accents.
