Chrysler 300 Customers Are Paying A Lot More Than MSRP

Surpases All Over Vehicles In Terms Of Price Premiums...

In a market rife with demand and scarcity, Consumer Reports has unearthed a remarkable trend: buyers are shelling out an average of 12% over the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the latest 2023 Chrysler 300s. The revelation, drawn from exhaustive data analysis on TrueCar, points to an unprecedented scenario where the Chrysler 300 leads the pack, surpassing all other vehicles in terms of price premiums.

This unforeseen surge in pricing for the Chrysler 300 stems primarily from the release of the limited edition 2023 Chrysler 300C. The allure of this edition, equipped with a formidable 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 engine, proved irresistible as all 2,000 units flew off the shelves within a mere 12 hours of hitting the market in the United States. However, complications arose for a fraction of purchasers due to extended waiting periods and soaring interest rates, resulting in some retracting their orders. Consequently, this surplus stock left dealerships with the liberty to dictate prices, leading to significant markups over the sticker prices.

While the 2,000-unit cap on the high-performance 300C may appear limited, Chrysler took it a step further by announcing an even scarcer allocation for the 2023 300S models. With a disclosed production count of approximately 850 units for the 300S V6 and 1,450 units for the 300S V8 earmarked for the U.S. market, these models are set to become some of the rarest offerings from the Brampton Assembly Plant for the model year.

The fervor for the Chrysler 300 isn’t an isolated incident in the automotive market. Following closely behind in second place for selling above MSRP is the Ford Maverick, a highly sought-after compact pickup truck introduced in 2021. Surprisingly, the discontinued Kia Stinger, a rear-wheel-drive sedan that halted production earlier this year, also ranks among the top contenders for selling above its suggested retail price.

Despite the premium pricing trend, it’s recommended to explore various options and compare offers extensively before finalizing a new car purchase. For enthusiasts eyeing the high-performance Chrysler models, despite the prevailing scarcity, several units are still available across the country.
