AUCTION: Turbocharged 2004 Ram SRT-10 VCA Edition.

Only 3,600 Miles On The Odometer...

In the mid-2000s, the Dodge Ram SRT-10 dominated the performance pickup truck market. Upon its release in 2004, Viper Club of America (VCA) members were able to enter a raffle in order to be able to purchase a very limited edition version of the Ram SRT-10.

The VCA Edition (also known as the “Wolfgang” Edition), featured a special Electric Blue exterior paint with dual Stone White stripes, special serialized badging, and the engine was signed by then Chrysler Group’s former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Wolfgang Bernhard who played an important role in getting the truck produced. Only 52 units were produced (50 units for the public, 2 were converted to automatics and used as pace vehicles for NASCAR).

This particular truck is serialized as No. 15 / 50 and is currently listed for sale on the popular automotive auction site BringATrailer.com

What makes this truck particularly unique is the number of modifications done to it.

On the exterior, there is the addition of a front splitter, an aftermarket domed hood with SRT-10 intake, side-exit exhaust outlets, a raised rear spoiler, aftermarket heater mirrors, and body-color tonneau cover. The truck sits on 22-inch Blue-painted wheels wrapped 305/40 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A rubber. The trucks also features aftermarket headlights with LED halos, LED fog lamps, and rear tailights.

As for what is under the hood, the 8.3-liter VIPER V10 received a major overhaul. Modified by JTS Venom Performance in Denver, North Carolina, the V10 was upgrades with a 81mm turbocharger, front-mounted intercooler, tubular exhaust headers, Stryker cylinder heads, Wiseco pistons, K1 connecting rods, Clevite TriMetal bearings, dual wastegates, and a Griffin radiator.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, and a limited-slip differential. The differential is said to have been rebuilt by Drivetrain Specialists of Warren, Michigan, and the transmission was reportedly rebuilt.

Aftermarket suspension components have also been fitted. Instead of using brakes from the Ram Heavy Duty, this truck wears four-wheel Wilwood ventilated discs. The selling dealer notes the brake booster was replaced.

Inside, there are bolstered seats that have been re-trimmed in Blue and White leather. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an Infinity sound system, a Pioneer head unit, push-button start, metal pedal covers, and an aftermarket shifter.

Additional gauges for fuel pressure, wideband air/fuel ratio, and turbocharger boost pressure are located on the A-pillar, along with a Turbosmart eBoost2 boost controller located in the center console. The digital odometer indicates 3,600 miles.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Florida, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.

There is only a few hours left in the auction on this awesome Ram SRT-10. So far the bidding is up to $45,000 (as of the writing of this article). With Ram SRT-10s gaining popularity with collectors once again, we are sure someone will snag up this truck for their collection.
