Bunker’s appointment to lead the technical operations of the Snap-on Tools Funny Car comes as a strategic decision by Pedregon and his team following their recent successes towards the end of the 2023 season. Bunker, an accomplished figure in drag racing with diverse experience spanning Pro Modified, Nostalgia Funny Car, Top Fuel, and Nitro Funny Car, brings a wealth of knowledge and a passionate drive to CPR.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, Bunker shared, “I am eager, excited, and motivated for this opportunity, for both myself and the entire team we are putting together here at CPR. The competition in Funny Car is incredible right now, but we feel we have a solid plan as a team to hit the ground racing in 2024.”

Accompanying Bunker on this journey is the esteemed 30-plus-year nitro veteran John Medlen, who will serve in a consulting role for the team. Medlen’s expertise and experience add another layer of depth and knowledge to CPR’s roster, creating a formidable force in the NHRA circuit.

Pedregon expressed his confidence in the new additions, stating, “I am very excited for this opportunity to have Jason and John join our Snap-on Tools Funny Car team. They both have the mindset and skills you desire out here and will be a great piece to bring our team into championship form.”

Drawing parallels between assembling a successful racing team and a football squad, Pedregon highlighted the importance of having the right talent in place. He emphasized the team’s commitment to a busy offseason, focusing on preparation to hit the track at full throttle in pursuit of championship glory.
