Boris Said’s 2018 Weaver Challenger Trans Am Racer Hits BaT
Winning Trans Am Challenger Race Car Hits the Auction Block
Here’s your shot at owning a serious piece of American motorsports history. Up for grabs on BringATrailer.com is a purpose-built 2018 Trans Am series race car, designed and constructed by Weaver Racing Concepts out of Mooresville, North Carolina. Featuring Dodge Challenger-style bodywork and driven by none other than Boris Said, this machine is a legit track weapon with a real racing pedigree.

Built for Team Weaver Racing to compete in the TA class of the Trans Am Championship, this Challenger-bodied beast earned its stripes during the 2018 season. It claimed a victory at Road America, set a track record at Watkins Glen, and brought home two more podium finishes. Underneath that aggressive Monster Energy black-and-green livery lies a custom-built tube-frame chassis, with composite Challenger-style panels secured by clips and fasteners for easy serviceability.
Powering the car is a NASCAR-grade 365 cubic-inch R5P7 V8 engine, based on Chrysler’s LA small-block architecture and assembled by Penske engine builder Chris Sumner. The naturally aspirated motor breathes through a Holley carb and sends power to the rear wheels via a G-Force GSR four-speed manual transmission, rotated 90 degrees for added ground clearance.

Suspension is handled by JRI TA-spec coilovers with tubular upper and lower control arms, while stopping power comes courtesy of ventilated AP Racing brakes. A full suite of race-spec components includes Sweet Manufacturing rack-and-pinion steering, BBS 15-inch racing wheels, Goodyear Eagle slicks, and a full aero package with an adjustable front splitter and rear wing.
Inside, the race-prepped cockpit features a Racetech seat with integrated head supports, Schroth harness, RaceQuip window net, carbon-fiber dash and tunnel cover, quick-release Alcantara steering wheel, AEM CD-7 Carbon digital dash with shift lights, and Racelogic Vbox lap timer. Safety gear includes a Firebottle suppression system and roll cage. A polycarbonate window with a NACA duct helps feed fresh air into the cabin.

Also included in the sale is a hefty list of spares, like a full nose section, spare transmission, extra BBS wheels, Currie rear housing, gear sets, rack-and-pinion units, brake rotors, pads, hubs, A-arms, and general service parts like plugs, belts, and filters.
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a full-blown, professionally campaigned Trans Am racer—one with a proven winning track record and built by one of the best in the business—this is your chance. The auction ends on Saturday, July 5 at 2:40 p.m. EDT, so get your bids in and get ready to make some noise.
