Meet The Jeep® e-Bike Electric Bike:

The Capable Off-Road Electric Bike...

Before the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) pandemic, when the world seemed a bit more “normal”, the Jeep® brand debuted a 60-second commercial starring Bill Murray reprising his role as Phil Connors from the 1993 film “Groundhog Day” for Super Bowl LIV. The commercial went on to being a huge success for the Jeep brand and gave a lot of press time to its all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator mid-size pickup.

You might remember, we briefly talked about the new Jeep® e-Bike from QuietKat that Bill Murray was seen riding in the commercial with the groundhog. While we didn’t have much information on the new e-Bike then, we have learned a lot about the new off-road electric mountain bike.

While the Jeep brand has been equipped to many bicycles in the past, this is the first time that the brand has been involved with an electric bike. QuietKat which has built several models of electric bikes before has created the most capable off-road electric mountain bike there is, thus earning the Jeep name.

The Jeep® e-Bike is built on a 26-inch x 4.8-inch Fat-Tire platform, which was designed for a variety of use including soft sand, snow, trails, and rock climbing. The e-Bike can achieve up to 40 miles on a single charge thanks to a 750-watt electric motor. The motor can produce 160Nm of torque (or about 118 ft.-lb. of torque) via pedal-assist or by using the thumb throttle. It also has a wide-range 10-speed drivetrain, which allows the rider to either cruise at a speedy pace or allowing the e-Bike to conquering steep off-road trails.

The Jeep e-Bike also features a Fire-Link™ suspension, which is a true four-bar linkage, providing the ultimate traction and capability on any terrain. The e-Bike comes with 150mm of suspension travel from the ultra-stiff inverted fork, and 120mm of rear-wheel suspension travel for tackling rugged terrain. Surprisingly, the package also includes a set of 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors for great stopping ability.

Both a 17-inch (Medium) or a 19-inch (Large) sized bike are available. QuietKat also offers a ton of additional features like fenders, bags, and even lights that are compatible with the new e-Bike.

The Jeep e-Bike isn’t cheap. At a hefty starting U.S. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $5,899, we don’t expect to see as many e-Bikes in the back of Gladiator pickups as we do four-stroke dirt bikes. Nevertheless, the idea of a rugged off-road electric bike is pretty awesome in our book.

For more information or to order a Jeep e-Bike, you can visit the QuietKat website. The e-Bikes will start shipping this month.
