Jeep® Officially Launches Grand Cherokee 4xe In Brazil

The much-anticipated 2024 Jeep® Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) has debuted in a significant milestone for the Brazilian automotive market. This latest iteration of the iconic Grand Cherokee embodies luxury and cutting-edge technology and introduces a new era of sustainability to the Brazilian SUV landscape.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, the world’s most-awarded SUV, first graced the automotive scene in 1992, revolutionizing the luxury SUV segment. Its introduction marked the birth of a legend, setting new standards for luxury, design, and off-road prowess. Now, almost three decades later, the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee arrives in Brazil, carrying forward the legacy of its predecessors.

This newest Grand Cherokee 4xe, a plug-in hybrid variant, brings a revolutionary aspect to the iconic SUV’s repertoire. Its 4xe technology combines a potent 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with two high-voltage electric motors, underpinned by an advanced 8-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain synergy yields an impressive total power output of 380 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful Jeep model available in Brazil. With a top speed of 128 mph (206 km/h) and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 6.3 seconds, the Grand Cherokee 4xe delivers exhilarating performance.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe offers a unique driving experience by seamlessly blending electric and thermal power. In electric mode, the SUV operates with almost zero emissions, providing instant torque upon acceleration. The thermal engine engages only when maximum power is required. This versatility allows for urban commutes with minimal environmental impact and the freedom to explore off-road terrain silently and sustainably.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe has a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery with 400 volts of voltage and a capacity of 17.3 kWh. This advanced battery pack provides an electric-only range of 18 miles (29 kilometers) per INMETRO’s cycle. Charging is a breeze, with a full recharge achievable in just two and a half hours using a 220V outlet with Jeep’s Level 2 Charger. This plug-in hybrid system offers regenerative braking, further enhancing efficiency.

True to its Jeep heritage, the Grand Cherokee 4xe upholds legendary off-road capabilities. Its Quadra-Trac II® 4×4 system employs sensors to optimize torque distribution, ensuring optimal traction in any terrain. The terrain selector offers five driving modes, including Auto, Sport, Snow, Mud/Sand, and Rock, allowing the driver to conquer diverse landscapes confidently.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe introduces advanced safety features, including Level 2 Active Driving Assist (ADAS) technologies. These include autonomous emergency braking, active lane change monitoring, adaptive autopilot with Stop & Go, blind spot monitoring, and more. A 360-degree camera system provides comprehensive visibility.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is priced at approximately $106,300 USD (R$ 569,990) and comes with a three-year full warranty with no mileage limit and a five-year warranty (or 62,137 miles/100,000 km) for the battery.
