The Ultimate Dodge Challenger Setup For Weekends At The Drag Strip!

Digital Designer Makes His Ultimate Road Trip Setup...

It wasn’t long ago, that a majority of families across the United States and Canada would pull their small camper with their family passenger car or station wagon to their favorite camping site. That trend started to change in the 1990s when pickup trucks started offering more creature comforts and multiple doors on half-ton models. Pretty soon, people were replacing their family sedans and station wagons for a pickup and now when you go to a campground you would be hard-pressed to see such vehicles pulling a travel trailer.

Timothy Adry Emmanuel also known as “adry53customs” on Instagram, has taken his digital artist talents to the next level and created a setup made famous by Chevrolet “Tri-Five” owners, and added some modern Mopar flare to it. “Back to the old road trip tradition where we see classic tri-five chevy hauling a custom camping trailer with the same theme, let’s apply that idea to modern-day Dodge Challenger, wanna go to dragstrip at weekend and catch a fish at lagoons on Tuesday? Having [a] good barbecue with friends you met on Forza Horizon 5? Say no more fam, this is the answer,” Emmanuel said in his post.

Using a 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody as his base, the 485 horsepower muscle car features an additional 3.5-inches of width and features a number of performance-enhancing goodies from the SRT Hellcat Widebody like sticky 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires mounted to 20-by-11-inch wheels, an SRT-tuned chassis, and SRT-tuned high-performance adaptive damping suspension. Not to mention a functional Shaker hood that comes with a Mopar cold-air intake, conical air filter, and optimized air box for improved airflow and performance.

But the travel trailer is the highlight that sets the design off. Using a low sung and sleek design, the camper uses a conventional hitch with the front hanging over the rear of the car to help with aerodynamics. A matching paint scheme along with Challenger side stripe and matching 20-by-11-inch wheels with widebody flares help tie the two together, visually. There is even under the floor storage with red LED lighting, accessible on the outside of the camper.

The travel trailer even uses the Challenger’s distinctive bodyside lines in its design as well. At the back of the travel trailer, there is an integrated set of Challenger taillights, while the lower rear bumper area also mimics the Challenger design. A large LED television and power overhang are also showcased on the outside of the trailer.

The only upsetting thing about this idea is that Dodge doesn’t recommend towing with the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody. Even the 5.7-liter HEMI V8-powered Challenger R/T with an 8-speed automatic is only rated to tow 1,000 lbs.

We love the idea and wish that it could be a reality. Because for some of us, a setup like this would make the family very comfortable during a weekend at the drag strip.
