Ram 1500 Takes Home Top Spot In Large Light-Duty Pickup Segment...

Dodge further extends its dominance as a compelling favorite, claiming the top spot among mass-market brands for the third straight year, according to the 2022 J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study™.

On the heels of its identical successes in 2020 and 2021, the Dodge brand also becomes the first domestic brand to capture the No. 1 mass-market ranking three years in a row.

The Ram brand reprised its second-place performances in 2020 and 2021 in the mass-market segment, anchored by the Ram 1500s (DT) third-consecutive win as the best “Large Light-Duty Pickup”.

We should mention that in 2019, Ram finished in first place ahead of Dodge, thus marking these most recent results the fourth-consecutive year that the brands have owned the top two spots in the APEAL Study’s mass-market rankings.

APEAL rates the emotional bond between customers. This is determined from customer feedback about a range of vehicle attributes, from ingress and egress, to driving comfort, during the first three months of ownership.

The feedback is then aggregated on an overall 1,000-point APEAL index.

Dodge and Ram were rated 882 and 863, respectively. The Jeep® brand’s total was 845, up 15 points from last year for the largest surge of any mass-market marque, and good for a climb to the eighth position from 15th.

Jeep benefited most from the introduction of the all-new Grand Wagoneer/Wagoneer (WS). The Grand Wagoneer earned top honors among “Large Premium SUVs” and the Wagoneer claimed first place among “Large SUVs”.

And this from an outdated platform and designs!!! Seems the people voting seem to like our vehicles better than the Mopar group that comment on this site. Speaking for myself I am shocked. I feel the Charger and Challenger are WAY over due for a complete makeover, but with that being said about their looks and age, they are really great cars that have held up well.

It would be very interesting if the "complete makeover" statement had some pictures, drawings, videos to show what people want/like.
That would get a nice discussion going.
Looking forward to it.
