FIAT’s “Project 363” Crossover Has Been Unveiled:

FIAT Brazil has officially pulled the covers off of its all-new “Project 363” crossover, during the finale of Big Brother Brazil (BBB21). The new Argo-based crossover is the latest vehicle from FIAT’s successful LATAM team, which has been cranking out a lot of successful products for the brand’s Latin America portfolio including the all-new Fiat Strada and updated Fiat Toro pickups.

While FIAT Brazil has yet to announce special details or an actual name for the vehicle yet. However, the Italian brand is allowing the Brazilian market to have their opinion in naming the new crossover with open voting on the FIAT Project 363 designated site. There fans and enthusiasts can vote for their favorite of three names (Tuo, Domo, and Pulse). Judging by the reaction on the FIAT Brazil Twitter page, the Pulse name seems to be the popular choice.

The Brazilian market was exposed to the vehicle’s styling as it was presented to the winner of BBB21 on Tuesday evening. Around the same time, FIAT released two teaser images of the crossover’s new styling. The LATAM design team under the supervision of Ralph Gilles, who is now in charge of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, Maserati, and FIAT Latin America, have created their own unique styling compared to FIAT Europe design studio. Which is not a bad thing in our eyes.

While there aren’t many details about the Project 363 crossover that haven’t been released, thanks to our good friends at Auto Segredos (Auto Secrets), we are learning a lot of the details about the newest FIAT vehicle. This includes its powertrain choices of a naturally aspirated 1.3-liter FireFly inline-four-cylinder engine making around 100 horsepower and 99 lb.-ft. of torque on ethanol. There will also be the option of a turbocharged 1.0-liter FireFly inline-three-cylinder engine delivering around 130 horsepower and an estimated torque between 123 lb.-ft. and 137 lb.-ft. of torque. The 1.0-liter will more than likely come with a CVT transmission, while the 1.3-liter will have both manual and CVT options.

In the world of small sub-crossovers, Project 363 will play a crucial part in the Latin American lineup for the brand. Expect Project 363, to go on sale in the LATAM in September.
