The 100,000th unit is a Sprint version of the Tonale in the signature Rosso Alfa color, destined for the Italian market. It’s a prime example of the craftsmanship and innovation coming out of the historic Stellantis plant, which has been an essential part of Italy’s industrial landscape since 1972.

The “Giambattista Vico” plant is known for its dedication to quality and sustainability. After undergoing a major upgrade in 2021, the plant now incorporates some of the most advanced manufacturing technologies, particularly for hybrid vehicle production. This makes it one of the most modern automotive plants in Europe today.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale, launched in 2022, is the brand’s first venture into the world of electrification. It offers a blend of hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains designed to combine performance with efficiency. The Tonale maintains Alfa Romeo’s signature sporty DNA while embracing modern technologies. It features an iconic Italian design and an interior loaded with digital technology, including a 12.3-inch reconfigurable instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen.

The Tonale comes in various trim levels, with engines ranging from the 130-hp turbo diesel to the 280 horsepower Ibrida Plug-In (PHEV) Q4. The top-tier Tonale Intensa, with 20-inch alloy wheels and exclusive interior finishes, offers high luxury and performance. It has advanced features like electronically controlled suspension and a Harman Kardon audio system, setting it apart in the compact SUV segment.

These accolades reflect its combination of stylish design, advanced technology, and eco-friendly performance, which have resonated with critics and customers alike.

Stellantis’ commitment to the Italian roots of the Alfa Romeo brand continues at Pomigliano d’Arco, where skilled workers produce each Tonale with the utmost care and precision. As the Tonale continues to win over fans worldwide, this milestone at the “Giambattista Vico” plant is a testament to the success of Alfa Romeo’s entry into the electrified era.
