Supercharged Dodge Challenger Drag Pak Crashes At NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl:

No. 1 Qualifier Crashes In First Round...

Drag racer Joe Welch is OK following at crash in Round 1 of eliminations at the NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl at Joliet, Illinois over the weekend. He was #1 qualifier with an 8.02 before the crash, with his supercharged Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.

Geoff Turk came away with the best mph of the event in his Drag Pak. He posted a top speed of 171.47 mph on a 8.097 pass in Round 1 of eliminations. Unfortunately, Turk got beat on the holeshot in Round 2 by Kevin Skinner driving a Ford Mustang Cobra Jet.

Skinner went on to face Chuck Watson in the final round. Watson won the event in his Ford Mustang Cobra Jet.
