Stellantis Recalls Nearly 6,000 Vehicles For Brake Pedal Defect
Recall Involves 2024 MY Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet
Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 5,974 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) after discovering that the brake pedal arm may collapse during normal braking, potentially resulting in a loss of braking function.
The recall affects certain 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale (GC) and 2024 Dodge Hornet (GG) PHEV models built during specific production periods. If the brake pedal arm collapses, the driver may be unable to activate the service brakes, increasing the risk of a crash without prior warning.
If this condition occurs while driving, Stellantis notes that the Electronic Park Brake, located on the center console, can be pulled up and held to help slow the vehicle to a controlled stop. In addition, if enabled, the vehicle’s Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system may intervene automatically when a collision is detected as imminent.
Affected Vehicles –

The suspect period began when the first 2024 model-year vehicle was produced for the U.S. market on February 23, 2023, and ended on February 14, 2024. Supplier and vehicle production records were used to identify the affected population.

Vehicle 2: 2024 Dodge Hornet PHEV (GG)

Certain 2024 model-year Dodge Hornet PHEV vehicles may also be equipped with a brake pedal assembly that can collapse during braking. The suspect production period began on February 10, 2023, and ended on December 21, 2023. Supplier and production records were reviewed to determine the affected vehicles.
As with the Tonale, Dodge Hornet vehicles built after July 11, 2024, or previously included in NHTSA Recall 24V-752, are not included in this action.
