Stellantis Post It’s Sales Numbers For The United States In Q4 2022!

Wrangler 4xe Continues To Be America's Best-Selling PHEV...

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) has released its Q4 2022 sales numbers and its total 2022 sales figures for the United States. For the Q4 period, the automaker sold 347,669 vehicles which was a decrease of 16% over the same period last year. Overall year-to-year numbers were also down a dismal 13% compared to 2021. There is no doubt that growing inflation and high-interest rates played a major role in the company’s results.

With a push towards electrification, FCA US, LLC reported a 26% increase in year-over-year sales of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles. The numbers also showed a 21% increase in PHEV vehicles in Q4 2022.

The Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited 4xe remains America’s best-selling PHEV with a total sales of 43,176 units for 2022. That is an increase of 46% over 2021’s numbers. Sales of the Wrangler 4xe also jumped 22% in Q4 2022.

The Jeep Compass increased 14% in total yearly sales versus 2021 and was up 9% in Q4 total U.S. sales versus the same quarter last year. The new Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer continue to gain sales momentum with the vehicles selling a combined 47,995 units in 2022.

FIAT –

2022 Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri Special Edition. (FIAT).

With one vehicle left in its lineup (500X), the rest of the lineup was discontinued from the United States marketplace after 2020. Unfortunately, the sales of the Italian brand in the American marketplace are under 1,000 units for the 2022. It is safe to say that until FIAT introduces some new product, the FIAT experiment has failed in the United States.

Every single brand was down. I hope this sends a message to STLA executives that prices are way too high.

Lesson from bankruptcy was get rid of some volume. The company will walk away from some marketshare+ cut production + use of interest rate discount financing (new Captive In-House financing unit, a focus of Manley:Stellantis ramps up U.S. captive finance arm )

If this leadership group can't keep three shifts running @ 10% EBIT, I'm not interested in their product. I'm not here to make STLA rich, and neither is the US consumer. There's a middle ground here. STLA is way past that line. I'm not interested in passion brand / oligopoly capitalism.

I'll sooner buy Toyota than continue to enrich STLA. 6th generation 4Runner drops next year.
