Stellantis Introduces Jeep® Wagoneer L for Enforcement Fleets
Full-Size SUV Offers Tailored Upfits and Advanced Safety Features for Government Agencies...
Stellantis has introduced the 2024 Jeep® Wagoneer L Series I for law enforcement and government fleets, offering agencies a larger and more versatile vehicle for non-pursuit tasks. While many expected Dodge to shift its Durango to a larger, body-on-frame platform, Dodge has instead retained the unibody design on the STLA Large platform for future models. However, the growing needs of law enforcement agencies, which often require more cargo capacity for gear, prompted Stellantis to provide an alternative: the Wagoneer L.
The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L is now available to law enforcement and government agencies with upfits tailored to specific operational requirements. These include essential features like emergency lighting systems (deck, grille, quarter window, and visor lights), a siren and speaker system, a wiring harness, a power distribution center, and a rear gun vault.
The Wagoneer L is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6 standard-output (S/O) engine, delivering 420 horsepower and 468 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s paired with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission and is available in both two-wheel-drive (4×2) and four-wheel-drive (4×4) configurations, providing flexibility depending on agency needs.
This full-size SUV also offers a range of safety features to ensure both officers and passengers are well-protected. Key safety systems include:
- 360° Surround-View Camera System
- Active Lane Management System
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop and Go
- Eight airbags, including full-length side-curtain airbags for all rows
- Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross-Path Detection
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus with Active Braking
- Head-Up Display (HUD) (optional)
- ParkSense® Front/Rear Park Assist System
- Pedestrian/Cyclist Detection with Emergency Braking
- Traffic Sign Recognition
Though the Wagoneer L is not pursuit-rated like the Chevrolet Tahoe PPV, it fills the gap for agencies requiring a larger, non-pursuit vehicle for tasks such as security patrols, transport, or use as a Special Service Vehicle (SSV). Its spacious interior and available safety features make it a reliable choice for agencies looking for a robust, full-size SUV.
