Stellantis Future Product For U.S. Shown In UAW Agreement

The facilities will split a $1.5 billion investment to continue to build the popular Jeep® Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. This includes their replacements. 

• The current Dodge Durango (WD) will continue production through 2025 in its current state.
• An all-new Dodge Durango (D6U) will start production in 2026 and offer both internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery-electric (BEV) options.
• The current Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL74) two-row will continue through 2027, while the (WL75) three-row will continue through 2028. Both vehicles will receive a MCA in 2024 for the 2025 model year.
• The next-generation Grand Cherokee (J6U) will include ICE and BEV variants and will launch in 2027.

Toledo Assembly Complex (North and South) – 

Stellantis will invest an additional $1.5 billion into its Toledo Assembly operations. The agreement states the following…

• Both the current Wrangler (JL) and Gladiator (JT) will continue into 2028
• MCA for Gladiator is happening now.
• Wrangler PHEV 4xe Upgrade is scheduled for 2025, as is the new Gladiator PHEV 4xe.
• Next-Gen Wrangler (J70) will launch in 2028, with both BEV and Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB). The REPB will use an ICE as a generator instead of powering the wheels, allowing the battery to be recharged on the go, extending range according to our sources.

Warren Truck Assembly Plant –

Belvidere – Launch a new joint venture (JV) battery operation in 2028 with a yet-to-be-identified business partner. Will invest $3.2 billion into the facility, which will generate an estimated 1,300 jobs.

Kokomo – Stellantis has committed to build two new battery plants in Kokomo. It’s a $6.2 billion investment that the company estimates will create 2,600 permanent jobs. The plants are a JV with Samsung SDI.

Mopar Hubs – 

According to the agreement, Mopar will consolidate its Product Distribution Centers (PDCs) into new hubs. This means some Mopar PDCs will be closed, and operations will move to six new Hubs. The UAW says while Stellantis will complete some of the facilities, the union got the elimination of the lower wage tier at Mopar, a guarantee of job security, and the right to bargain for an expanded moving allowance beyond the $37,500 they already won.

Belvidere Consolidated Mopar Mega Hub – A new $100 million investment that will launch in 2024 through the consolidation of work from the Marysville, Chicago, and Milwaukee PDCs. Introduce Stamping operations to support replacement parts for the Belvidere Mega Hub in 2025.

Fishkill, NY Mopar Hub – A new $30 million investment launch in 2025 with the consolidation of work from the New York and Boston PDCs.

Macon, GA Mopar Hub – A new $30 million investment launch in 2026 with the consolidation of work from the Orlando and Atlanta PDCs.

Metro Detroit Region Mopar Hub – A $30 million investment launch in 2026 with the consolidation of work from the Centerline PDC, Centerline Warehouse & Packaging, Warren PDC, and Sherwood PDC.

Reno, Nevada PDC – A new $30 million investment launch is projected in 2027 with the consolidation of work from the LA PDC.

South Central TX PDC – A new $30 million investment launch is projected in 2026 with the consolidation of work from the Dallas PDC.

Powertrain Facilities – 

Kokomo Casting – Stellantis will invest $160 million into the 625,000-square-foot facility in Indiana. This will include the following operations…

• Continued production of various engine blocks and components, transmission cases, and components & chassis components.
• Launch WL & LB Crossmembers in 2024.
• Launch EDM Gearbox Cover in 2024.
• Launch GME-T6 (HURRICANE I6) Oil Pan in 2024.
• Launch the EP6 (New 1.6-liter) Bedplate in 2025.
• Launch the EP6 Block in 2025.
• Launch eMotors Housing and Cover in 2026.

Kokomo Engine – Production of the GME-T4 DOHC (turbocharged 2.0-liter I4) will continue into 2028.

Kokomo Transmission – The facility will get a $450 million investment. The product at the facility will look like this…

• Production of the current 850RE 8-Speed Automatic will continue into 2028.
• Launch of a new 880RE Gen4 8-Speed Automatic in 2024.

• Current production of the 948TE 9-Speed Automatic will continue into 2028.
• Current production of the 68RFE 6-Speed Automatic used in Ram Heavy Duty trucks will continue into 2024.
• Launch Phase I of Electric Drive Motor Gear Machining & Assembly in 2024.
• Launch Phase II of Electric Drive Motor Gear Machining & Assembly in 2025.
• Launch e-Motor Assembly in 2026.

Trenton Engine – The Trenton Engine facility will continue to produce Pentastar V6 engines.

• Pentastar Classic continues through 2024.
• Pentastar Upgrade continues through 2028.

Dundee Engine Plant North & South – The Dundee Engine will get an investment of $770 million and produce two new engines.

• Launch of a new GME-T4 EVO (turbo 2.0-liter) in 2024.
• Launch of the new EP6 (1.6-liter I4) in 2025.
• Introduce production of STLA Large and Frame Battery Trays in 2024.
• Introduce production of STLA Large Beam Machining in 2025.

Toledo Machining – The 1.2 million square feet facility known for producing steering columns and torque converters will get a $270 million investment.

• Production of the current 850RE torque converters will continue into 2028.
• Production of the current 948TE torque converters will continue into 2028.
• Current Heavy Duty truck steering columns will continue to be produced into 2028.
• Current production of Jeep JL/JT Super-Module for 4xe models will continue into 2028.
• Introduce production of STLA Large front cradles.
• Introduce the production of halfshafts.

Stamping Facilities – 

Sterling Stamping – FCA US, LLC’s 2.74 million square foot facility right down the street from Sterling Heights Assembly Plant will receive a $165 million investment. Continue current products to support Detroit Assembly Complex Jefferson, Warren Truck, Toledo, and Sterling Heights Assembly facilities.

Warren Stamping – The 2.1 million square foot facility, will get an investment of $85 million. This will be used to introduce future products to support Detroit Assembly Complex Jefferson, Warren Truck, Toledo, Sterling Heights Assembly, and other North American facilities.
