2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Will Get This Feature Across The Lineup

All-Wheel Drive Will Be Standard On All Electrified Chargers...

Dodge has managed to keep tight-lipped over the details surrounding their highly anticipated all-new e-muscle car lineup. While some information about the performance output of the upcoming 400-volt models has emerged, there are still major announcements pending. However, our sources have managed to obtain significant detail about the new all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona lineup.

Dodge has outlined a gradual approach to electrified performance, offering power options of 340 kW (456 horsepower) and 440 kW (590 horsepower) for its 400-volt powertrains. However, the automaker has remained quiet when it comes to its 800-volt SRT Banshee powertrain package. This package is said to be the spiritual successor to the current HELLCAT lineup.

The Charger Daytona lineup will also offer Direct Connection Stage 1 and Stage 2 upgrades, allowing the Charger Daytona 340 to reach up to 400 kW (535 horsepower) and the Charger Daytona 440 to achieve up to 500 kW (670 horsepower). However, the details about the base output and Direct Connection upgrade levels for the 800-volt Banshee powertrain will be announced later. Still, rumors suggest it may reach up to an impressive 1,100 horsepower, surpassing the Tesla Model S Plaid.

When the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Concept was unveiled last August, it was revealed that the 800-volt “Banshee” system would be equipped with an all-wheel drive (AWD). While it was initially assumed that AWD would be available across the entire lineup, we have now learned that AWD will also be standard in the 400-volt Charger Daytona 340 and 440 models.

However, those who prefer rear-wheel drive (RWD) excitement do not need to worry. We have been informed that the Charger Daytona will feature a mode that allows the driver to disable the AWD system, enabling pure RWD fun, including burnouts. Dodge assures us that the inclusion of AWD is not only for all-weather capability but also for enhancing overall performance.

Dodge will equip the Charger Daytona with a range of driving modes to enhance driving pleasure. Whether you prefer the aggressive and responsive feel of “Slam” mode, the sideways excitement of “Drift” mode, the straight-line acceleration of “Drag” mode, or the tire-scorching antics of “Donut” mode, the Charger Daytona should have you covered in every scenario.
