Dodge and Alfa Romeo emerged as frontrunners in Q4, boasting sales increases of 5% and a staggering 84%, respectively. This surge was propelled by the sunset of the current-generation Brampton-made Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars, buoyed by demand for the all-new Dodge Hornet compact utility vehicle (CUV) and Alfa Romeo’s debut of the Tonale, the first Alfa Romeo CUV in Canada.
Jeep®’s Remarkable Performances:
Jeep® Compass witnessed a substantial uptick of 128% in Q4 sales, credited to recent interior and powertrain enhancements. Notably, Wagoneer by Jeep brand soared by 167%, while Ram Heavy Duty exhibited an 11% increase.

Alfa Romeo’s Milestone Year:
The Alfa Romeo brand posted a significant 21% sales increase over the calendar year. Introducing the Tonale, offered in traditional ICE and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants, catalyzed this growth. The Tonale PHEV accounted for 61% of total Tonale sales in 2023, showcasing a solid demand for electrified offerings.
Dodge’s Resurgence and Innovations:
Dodge witnessed a remarkable 25% surge in sales year-over-year, fueled by the successful final run of the powerful Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and the buzz created by the all-new Dodge Hornet, the brand’s first electrified performance vehicle. The plug-in hybrid R/T model of the Hornet accounted for a solid 18% of annual sales, signaling an enthusiastic reception in the market.
Chrysler’s Minivan Dominance and Milestone Achievements:
Chrysler maintained its stronghold as the top seller of minivans in Canada for the year, marking 40 years of minivan leadership. Notably, the 100,000th Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid production at the Windsor Assembly Plant highlighted the brand’s commitment to plug-in hybrid technology, with the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid accounting for 26% of total Pacifica sales in 2023.
Jeep’s Diverse Portfolio and Electrification Plans:
Jeep brand vehicles showcased a spectrum of successes, from the entry-level Compass, up by 16%, to the premium Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, marking a remarkable 36% increase. The brand’s commitment to electrification was evident with the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe, capturing significant shares of their respective sales.
Ram’s Steady Performance and Electrification Initiatives:
Ram brand pickup truck sales remained steady, experiencing only a 1% decrease. The introduction of the all-electric, zero-emission Ram 1500 REV in April 2023 marked a pivotal step in Stellantis’ electrification strategy, with further innovations on the horizon, including the 2025 Ram 1500 featuring the all-new 3.0-litre Hurricane engine.
Looking Ahead to 2024:
The focus shifts to an ambitious 2024 for Stellantis Canada, which is set to introduce six battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) into the Canadian marketplace, beginning with the highly anticipated 2024 Fiat 500e in Quebec and British Columbia. It will be followed up with the Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S and the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona and Ram 1500 REV.
