Many people in the Mopar community were quite upset to hear that the Charger and Challenger would not be receiving a styling refresh for the 2019 model year. However, a bunch of test mules for the 2019 Challenger have been caught out and about with some interesting features. These particular models were caught by our friends over at Real Fast Fotography. It appears to be a non-widebody SRT HELLCAT with the SRT Demon’s hood.
Our sources tell us that with the SRT Demon being a special edition one-year model run, the SRT HELLCAT models will get a trickle down package with most of the SRT Demon goodies. Some of these goodies are…
- SRT Power Chiller™ liquid-to-air intercooler chiller system
- Line Lock
- Drag Mode instead of Track Mode
- TransBrake for more powerful and quicker launches
- Air-Grabber™ induction system
While the name has yet to be confirmed, our sources are calling it the “Drag Pack”. Not to be confused with the factory built non-street legal Drag Pak race car from Mopar. However, this car will have a mild power upgrade as well. This package will be available on both SRT HELLCAT and SRT HELLCAT widebodies. While we don’t know all the specifics, check back regularly as we will update this information as it comes available to us.
