RECALL: 2024 Maserati GranTurismo For Tire Label Issue

Loose Label May Violate Safety Standards

Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling approximately 21 units of its 2024 GranTurismo (M189) GT car due to a tire label that may detach from the driver’s side B-pillar due to a specific textured topcoat paint. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

The recall states that a vehicle may be overloaded without a tire information label, increasing the risk of a crash.

The suspect period began on July 14, 2023, when the first vehicle was produced with the specific topcoat paint, and ended on July 16, 2024, when the last vehicle was produced with the same paint. The suspect period was determined using vehicle production records. Similar vehicles not included in this recall were built with a different topcoat paint formulation.

Recall Chronology –

  • On February 17, 2025, the Maserati Mirafiori Assembly Plant was alerted that the GranTurismo manufacturer and tire labels may detach from the B-pillar on vehicles painted with Nero Scarabeo (323) clear coat and immediately opened an internal investigation.

  • From February 2025 through April 2, 2025, after evaluation and validation, Maserati S.p.A. determined the root cause to be that the glue applied to the label may not properly adhere to the final finish clear coat on one specific paint color.

  • On April 7, 2025, Maserati S.p.A., through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles.
