Approximately 139,019 2021 to 2023 Dodge Durango (WD) vehicles manufactured between October 24th, 2020, and February 16th, 2023, are being recalled by Stellantis (FCA US, LLC). The recall has been initiated as the rear spoiler of some of these vehicles may not be properly aligned with the roof, leading to damage when the liftgate is operated.
The issue arises due to the rear spoiler being over-flush with the roof, which can cause it to come in contact with the roof while cycling the liftgate. This over-flush condition can result in the spoiler becoming partially detached from the vehicle when the liftgate is operated, which can create a road hazard for other vehicles and potentially cause accidents without warning.
To identify the suspect vehicles, field data, and vehicle production records were examined. Vehicles manufactured before or after the suspect period are not included in this recall.
Owners of the affected Dodge Durango vehicles will be contacted by FCA US, LLC, and advised to bring their vehicles to an authorized dealer for inspection and repair. Proper alignment of the rear spoiler will be ensured, and any damaged spoiler will be replaced. It is recommended that owners follow the instructions provided and have their vehicles inspected and repaired as soon as possible to ensure their safety on the road.
