Dodge Bundles Two Of The Hornet’s Most Popular Options

A Welcome Addition For The 2024 Lineup...

While the Dodge Hornet may not possess the HEMI®-powered prowess of its larger counterpart, the Durango, it’s carving out its own niche as the performance leader in the C-UV segment. Yet, it’s not just its performance that’s attracting attention. The Hornet’s straightforward ordering process and remarkable value compared to its peers have contributed to its growing popularity.

In the previous year, Dodge streamlined the Hornet’s ordering options with three distinct packages. The Blacktop Package, the first of these, introduced sleek Gloss Black accents to the vehicle’s exterior. The second package, known as the Track Pack, brought a host of enhancements: 20-Inch x 8.0-Inch Abyss Finish Aluminum Wheels, 235/40R20 All-Season Tires, Black Alcantara® Seats featuring Red Accents, Red Painted Dodge Calipers, Bright Pedals, Dual Mode Suspension, a Sporty Leather Steering Wheel, and Inox Steel Door Sills. However, Dodge is taking things further in 2024 to cater to those who desire both packages.

For those eagerly awaiting the launch of the 2024 Dodge Hornet R/T, this new option is indeed a welcome surprise. The Hornet GT is already celebrated as the quickest and most potent gas-powered CUV in the industry. Empowered by the Hurricane4 engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder, the GT boasts an impressive 268 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, setting the bar for gas engine performance in its segment.

With the R/T variant, the Hornet charts new territory as Dodge’s inaugural electrified performance vehicle. The Dodge Hornet R/T presents itself as the segment’s most potent utility vehicle, wielding 288 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. This model flaunts a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery, furnishing an all-electric range of 32 miles, along with an impressive 77 MPGe and a total range of 360 miles. An exclusive on-demand PowerShot feature delivers an extra 30 horsepower, catapulting the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 5.6 seconds. In contrast, the Dodge Hornet GT clocks in at 6.5 seconds for the same sprint in Sport Mode.

I got a chance to check out a Hornet R/T at my job the other day and honestly it's not a bad vehicle. It's no Scat Pack 392 or Hellcat but it is nice. It's the type of vehicle that if SRT (or Direct Connection) were to get their hands on and really tune, they'd have a nice performance vehicle for the segment that the little crossover competes in. It's not going to set the world on fire but it's decent for what it is.
