Ram Brazil Teases Limited Edition Rampage Rebel

New Model to Feature R/T Hood Decals, Unique Color Options, and Distinctive Interior Upgrades...

Ram Brazil is stirring excitement among Brazilian truck enthusiasts with a teaser video showcasing a new limited edition variant of its popular Rampage Rebel pickup. Although the video is short on specifics, it reveals that the new model features hood decals similar to those on the performance-focused Rampage R/T, alongside bed side “Rebel” decals, red interior stitching, and a new exterior shade of either red or orange. It’s hard to tell from the video.

The Rampage: A Compact Powerhouse –

For those unfamiliar with the Rampage, it is a compact pickup similar in size to the Ford Maverick. Built on the Small-Wide 4×4 LWB architecture shared with the Jeep® Compass, the Rampage also borrows the Compass’ front doors, windshield, and A-pillars. Despite its compact size, the Rampage is renowned for its power and performance.

The teaser video does show us a few tidbits about what the new limited edition truck has in store. It looks like the truck will get the same hood decals as the Ram Rampage R/T, with bed side “Rebel” decals, red interior stitching, and a new shade of either red or orange. Its hard to tell.

The Hurricane4 Engine –

Hurricane4 turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine. (Ram).

At the heart of the Rampage’s impressive performance is the Hurricane4 engine, a first for vehicles manufactured in South America. This 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine delivers 272 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Made entirely of aluminum, the engine features direct injection and double variable valve control, ensuring high performance.

Belonging to the Stellantis Global Medium Engine (GME) family, the Hurricane4 engine includes advanced technologies like a low inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, an electronic relief valve, and a refrigerated exhaust gas recirculation system. These innovations contribute to the Rampage’s exceptional performance among regional pickup trucks.

Performance and Specifications –

Ram Rampage Interior. (Ram).

The Hurricane4 engine is standard across all Rampage versions, but the R/T variant exclusively features this powertrain. The R/T accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 137 mph. Other versions also offer impressive performance, with a 0-60 mph time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.

Equipped with a dual exhaust system, the Rampage produces an engaging sound, particularly in the R/T model. The Rebel and Laramie versions feature a Sport button on the steering wheel, which enhances the digital instrument panel’s appearance, sharpens accelerator and steering responses, and adjusts gear changes at higher RPMs. In the R/T, this button is customized for the variant, further enhancing these parameters.

Advanced Transmission and Drivetrain –

Ram Rampage Rotary-Shifter. (Ram).

To handle the engine’s power, the Rampage uses a 9-speed automatic transmission with a rotary selector similar to the Ram 1500. Drivers can also manually shift gears using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Rampage comes standard with automatic 4×4 traction, distributing power between the two axles and offering a low-range mode activated by a button on the center console.

Looking Ahead –

Whether it turns out to be a Rampage Rebel G/T, Night Edition, or a special anniversary model, it’s clear that Ram Brazil is continuing to innovate and excite its customer base with high-performance, stylish pickups. Fans will be eagerly awaiting more information on this intriguing new variant.

Let’s not get into the “ let’s bring it here” argument, for many reasons, it will not happen. BUT, this small Ram pickup is a smash hit and the fundamentals of the Rampage must be used to help guide that new Ram product to North America. Indeed a couple of hundred should be brought here and LOANED for a few months to people, if the laws and insurance requirements are met. Would a similar truck resonate with NA buyers? Maybe we just test a few on private property, legally for people willing to drive them for a couple of days on a closed road course or job simulation setting to help gage interest.
I know my interest is peaked, this Rampage certainly has hit on something and with so much R&D being done in Brazil, the development process for a STLA platform based pickup, perhaps off the new Wagoneer S/ Cherokee platform could be built on the same assembly line adopting many of the Rampages successful features.
Just saying.

I am in Bill. Can be be the first 2 on the list. Great idea. Let the buyers test and evaluate. Let the future buyers say yes or no. Not some CEO who has no idea what the US and Canada even want.
