Ram Brazil Considers Bringing The Ram 1500 Limited To Market!

The Most Luxurious Pickup On The Market, Could Be Headed For Brazil...

Ram continues to expand its lineup in the Brazilian marketplace. Over the past two years, it has gone from offering just one model/trim (Ram 2500 Laramie) to an actual full lineup that also includes the Ram 1500 Rebel, Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn, and next week will launch the Ram 1500 Classic as its new “entry-level” pickup.

But according to our friends at the Brazilian automotive publication, Autos Segredos (Auto Secrets), Ram is considering offering yet another Ram 1500 trim: the Ram 1500 Limited.

The 2022 Ram 1500 Limited is the most luxurious pickup truck in its class. For example, the Limited offers a corrugated chrome mesh grille with a chrome R-A-M text badge in the center. Chrome tow hooks, body-side moldings, mirror caps, and door handles combined with standard 20-inch aluminum wheels (optional 22-inch aluminum with painted inserts), also give the Limited a premium exterior look. Automatic power running boards and body-colored fender flares are also standard equipment.

Inside, the Limited benefits from a 100% full-grain hand-wrapped leather dashboard, door-panel coverings, and armrests. Elevating the premium feel further, real aluminum and wood accents adorn the cabin, along with a wood upper glove box door with a metal inlay “Limited” badge. A 12-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen with navigation is also standard. The available 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon system with perforated metal speaker grill covers delivers an opulent sound and design to the cabin. At night, the cabin is accentuated with ambient lighting to create a luxurious and soothing atmosphere for passengers.

Under the hood, it is expected that the Limited will carry over the same 5.7-liter HEMI V8 found in the Rebel. The HEMI delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. (560 N⋅m) of torque and offers a smooth, broad power band that avoids the hesitation and peakiness of turbocharged engines – with performance-enhancing and fuel-saving technologies that include variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation.

With Fuel Saver Technology (cylinder deactivation), the engine control computer turns off fuel and spark and closes the intake and exhaust valves on four of the engine’s eight cylinders during light load operation, such as highway cruising when full power is not needed. Variable camshaft timing (VCT) helps maximize fuel economy by reducing the engine’s pumping work via a delayed closing of the intake valve, which increases the expansion process of the combustion event.

The HEMI V8 is paired with a ZF-source 8-speed (8HP75) TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

We expect that the truck, like the Rebel, the Limited will be offered only as a Crew Cab with a 5-foot, 7-inch box in four-wheel drive (4×4). Hopefully, we will hear more in the upcoming weeks from Ram about its intentions to bring the luxury offering to the Brazilian marketplace.
