Mopar’s “Ram Airflow” Cold-Air Intake System For Ram 1500:
Ram's All New Intake, Where Is It?
Back in February 2018, the Mopar brand released a bunch of aftermarket parts for the 2019 Ram 1500 at the Chicago Auto Show. Most of those parts were showcased on their Mopar-modified 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn Sport 4×4. One of those parts shown was the “Ram Airflow” cold-air intake system.
The new Mopar Ram Airflow cold-air intake system feeds a steady flow of fresh air to the 395-horsepower, 410 lb.-ft. of torque, 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 engine. The intake is compatible with all hood applications for the 2019 Ram 1500.
Since its debut on the Flame Red Mopar-modified 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4×4, the Ram Airflow cold-air intake system has been showcased on several other Mopar show vehicles.
- Mopar-modified Ram 1500 Rebel Concept
- Ram 1500 Big Horn “Low Down” Concept
- Blue Streak Mopar-modified 2019 Ram 1500 Sport
With most of Mopar’s parts for the 2019 Ram 1500 already on the market, the MoparInsiders.com staff still get a lot of questions asking about the Ram Airflow cold-air intake system. After reaching out to our friends at St. Clair Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in St. Clair, Michigan, with no results in their system with any information on the Ram Airflow system, we reached out to our friends at Mopar.
The Mopar team responded that the Ram Airflow cold-air intake system will be available at a later time, in the very near future. The also told us the official price for the system, $925 U.S. MSRP. That’s a lot of money for a cold-air intake. However, it was designed by the same engineering team that developed the Ram 1500 and does not void any warranties of the truck, since it is from Mopar.
Hopefully, that answers a lot of your questions. We will keep you up to date on when the part officially becomes available through Mopar. Let us know in the comments if we should add a Ram Airflow cold-air intake system to our long-term 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Sport 4×4 or look elsewhere.
