Fixing the Dodge Charger Daytona’s A/C & Climate Button Glitch

Mopar Tech Shows How to Replace the Faulty ICS Switch on Dodge’s eMuscle Car

If you recently bought a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona and noticed your A/C or defroster buttons stop working after a few minutes of driving, you’re not alone. It’s a known issue on some early-build models, and thanks to Mopar Technician Jordan Rose (@mopartechjordan), we’ve got a clear breakdown of what’s going on and how to get it fixed the right way.

The problem lies with the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) switch, the module that houses the physical buttons for your climate control system. These buttons may become unresponsive in affected vehicles after the car warms up, usually just a few minutes into your drive.

The Real Fix — No Guesswork –

Jordan, a certified Mopar tech at Hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep® Ram in Virginia Beach, Virginia, explains this isn’t just a random glitch or software bug. It’s a hardware issue. Dodge has officially acknowledged it through Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 08-035-25 and Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-016.

The fix? Replace the ICS switch with an updated part — Part #: 68646761AD — that doesn’t suffer from the same failure. This isn’t a DIY job unless you’re trained to work with modern EV systems, especially since the Charger Daytona uses high-voltage components. The dash needs to come apart to access the ICS switch, so it’s best to have a trained dealership technician handle the job.

What to Tell Your Service Advisor –

If you’re experiencing this issue, Jordan recommends mentioning the TSB and RSU numbers above when booking your appointment. This tells the dealership you’re aware of the fix and makes the process smoother. Since this issue falls under warranty, you should not incur any out-of-pocket costs.

A Reminder on Safety –

Jordan makes it clear: don’t mess with high-voltage systems unless you’re certified to do so. EVs like the Charger Daytona require special training and tools, and attempting a repair without proper knowledge can be dangerous.
