MILESTONE: Jeep® Celebrates The 500,000 Renegade Built In Brazil!

Jeep® Brazil has another great reason to celebrate the month of August. After reaching the mark of 400,000 units sold in the country and being named “Best Purchase of 2022” by Quatro Rodas magazine, the Renegade conquered another milestone: 500,000 units produced in Brazil. 

A protagonist in the history of the Jeep brand in Brazil, the Renegade redefined the segment when it was launched in 2015. The vehicle carries all the authenticity of the American adventure brand but continues to expand its success with each update in Brazil. Renegade has always brought a lot of innovation and exclusive content that surprised and positioned the model in a unique way.

As the first model manufactured at the Stellantis Automotive Complex in Goiana, the Renegade marked the return of Jeep production in Brazil. The plant is the most modern in the region and was inaugurated on April 28th, 2015. Seven years later, the plant remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. Its installation has been changing the socioeconomic reality of the region and also transforming the Brazilian vehicle market with the launch of four leading models in their segments.

The Renegade quickly became a symbol and an object of desire for consumers globally. Since its launch, the model has racked up numerous awards. In its first year on the market, it won “Car of the Year” by AutoEsporte magazine, one of the most traditional awards in the automotive market in Brazil. It also has taken home titles like “Brazil SUV”, “Best Buy”, and “Best Sports Utility” are just a few of the titles that the B-segment SUV has won over the years.

This year, Brazil was the first market to introduce the mid-cycle-action (MCA) of the Renegade. It also introduced the turbocharged 1.3-liter (GSE-T4) inline-four cylinder to the market (called the T270 in Brazil). It also added various safety and driving aids, such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which continuously monitors the traffic ahead. 

Offer in several models, with both front-wheel drive (4×2) and four-wheel drive (4×4), the Renegade also offers the most-capable off-roading package in its segment with the “Trail Rated” Renegade Trailhawk. 

Now, remember, the 500,000 units built in Brazil are just for the LATAM region. Those countries include Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, and others. The Renegade is also produced in Italy and China (pending a halt in the contract with GAC).
